The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today that Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserves stood at $435.6 billion at the end of January 2026 (compared to $427.9 billion at the end of December 2025). There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of January 2026 or December 2025. The total amount of foreign exchange reserves of $435.6 billion is equivalent to more than five times the circulating currency in Hong Kong, or about 38% of the Hong Kong dollar money supply M3.
