According to reports on Tuesday, South Korean memory chip manufacturer SK Hynix has secured around 70% of the high bandwidth memory (HBM) orders for NVIDIA Corporation's latest artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing platform Vera Rubin. Sources say that SK Hynix has secured 70% of the orders for NVIDIA Corporation's Vera Rubin platform HBM4 products, which is significantly higher than the market's previous estimate of 50%. It is projected that by 2026, SK Hynix will hold a 54% share of the global HBM4 market, with Samsung and Micron following closely behind with 28% and 18% respectively. Currently, NVIDIA Corporation and AMD have also completed quality testing on Samsung's HBM4 products. On the day this news was announced, SK Hynix released its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2025, with both revenue and operating profit reaching record highs due to the increasing demand for storage chips driven by the rapid development of AI infrastructure. SK Hynix also announced that they will establish an AI solution company (tentatively named AI Company) in the United States to explore new growth engines in the AI field. Earlier this week, it was reported that SK Hynix will be the exclusive supplier of advanced storage chips for Microsoft Corporation's new AI chip Maia 200.
