Single mine 120 units+! CIDI (03881) unmanned mine card batch delivery landed
Recently, 40 Zhonglian Heavy Industries ZT160HEV new energy mining trucks equipped with the self-developed HIDI intelligent driving full-stack autonomous driving system were successfully delivered in a mining area in Xinjiang.
Recently, 40 ZOOMLION ZT160HEV new energy mining trucks equipped with CIDI's self-developed full-stack autonomous driving system were successfully delivered in a mining area in Xinjiang. With this, the scale of unmanned mining trucks deployed by CIDI in this mining area has exceeded 120 units.
This marks another milestone for CIDI in the field of smart mines, not only confirming the maturity and reliability of its technology solutions in extreme environments but also demonstrating the high level of trust that industry-leading customers have in its autonomous driving capabilities. The collaboration between two benchmark enterprises in Changsha in artificial intelligence and high-end manufacturing has successfully created a model for local industry synergy, contributing to the development of the advanced manufacturing cluster in Changsha.
The large coal mine where this project is located is a core capacity reserve base for Xinjiang's "Coal Transport Outside Xinjiang" strategy, with significant strategic importance for ensuring national energy security. Its unique operating environment and huge production capacity demands place extremely high requirements on technological advancement, system stability, and engineering implementation capabilities.
The delivery of the 40 unmanned driving mining trucks is the result of deep collaboration and joint efforts between CIDI and ZOOMLION. The ZOOMLION ZT160HEV hybrid mining truck has integrated the CIDI autonomous driving system and is now officially used in stripping projects to achieve 24-hour uninterrupted and efficient operation.
The delivery process involved a direct confrontation with extreme environments and technological limits, serving as a concentrated affirmation of CIDI's core technological strength. Located in the deserts of the mining area, with winter temperatures approaching -30C, the low-temperature environment can easily cause sensor failures, battery performance degradation, and delayed response of the wire control system, posing common challenges in the industry. Additionally, the dust generated in the mining area severely obstructs visual sensors and LiDAR, directly impacting environmental recognition accuracy and posing a significant challenge to the autonomous driving system.
To address the extreme cold, CIDI upgraded the hardware configuration with special low-temperature sensors and core components, along with customized heating protection modules to fundamentally solve the adaptability issue in low temperatures, ensuring that sensors, wire control systems, and other core components can operate stably even in extreme temperatures of -30C.
In response to dust interference, CIDI deployed multiple redundant perception solutions, integrating the complementary advantages of LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, and visual sensors, along with a self-developed dust filtering algorithm, effectively penetrating dust cover and achieving precise recognition and stable positioning of obstacles, operating routes, and surrounding environments, overcoming the perception challenges in harsh weather conditions.
Of particular note is CIDI's successful deployment of large-scale cluster operations of unmanned driving in this mining area. CIDI's independently developed cluster scheduling system can intelligently plan the optimal driving route for each mining truck based on real-time road conditions and priority of operational tasks in the mining area, dynamically coordinating vehicle meetings, avoidance, loading and unloading processes, effectively avoiding congestion. Additionally, the system supports multi-vehicle cooperative driving, transmitting operational instructions with low latency through vehicle-to-vehicle communication, ensuring the consistency and safety of fleet operations. Compared to traditional manual driving modes, cluster operations not only significantly reduce labor costs and safety risks but also achieve a significant improvement in transportation efficiency.
With its self-developed full-stack technology base, solid engineering implementation capabilities, and deep insights into mining application scenarios, CIDI is leveraging benchmark projects to accelerate the deep penetration of autonomous driving technology into all aspects of the mining industry, driving traditional mining towards a safe, efficient, low-carbon, and intelligent era.
