Silicon Industry Branch: Market sentiment is high, and the price of monocrystalline silicon wafers continues to rise.
The Silicon Industry Branch stated in a document that silicon wafer prices continued to rise this week. Among them, the average transaction price of N-type G10L monocrystalline silicon wafer (182*183.75mm/130m) was 1.32 yuan/piece, an increase of 3.13% compared to last week.
The silicon industry branch issued a document stating that the price of silicon wafers continued to rise this week. Among them, the average transaction price of N-type G10L monocrystalline silicon wafer (182*183.75mm/130m) was 1.32 yuan/piece, a 3.13% increase from the previous week; the average transaction price of N-type G12R monocrystalline silicon wafer (182*210 mm/130m) was 1.40 yuan/piece, a 1.45% increase from the previous week; the average transaction price of N-type G12 monocrystalline silicon wafer (210*210 mm/130m) was 1.68 yuan/piece, a 5.00% increase from the previous week. The prices of silicon wafers of various sizes rose in general this week, mainly due to the rise in polysilicon prices driving market sentiment.
Specifically, on the supply side: the rising trend of raw material polysilicon prices has led silicon wafer companies to be bullish on the future; on the demand side: affected by the US double anti-dumping and countervailing duties, as well as the expectations of the implementation of export tax rebate policies in China, overseas demand is good, and there are more orders for cell purchases. With the increase in raw material costs and strong downstream demand, coupled with related favorable policies, silicon wafer prices continued to rise. According to research, the overall industrial capacity utilization rate this week is relatively stable, with two leading companies operating at 52% and 50%, integrated enterprises operating between 54%-80%, and other companies operating between 50%-80%.
This week, the prices of downstream batteries rose compared to last week, while component prices remained relatively stable. The mainstream price of battery cells is 0.29-0.30 yuan/W, a 0.01 yuan/W increase from the previous week. The mainstream price of components is 0.66-0.68 yuan/W, unchanged from last week. Looking ahead, in the short term, the rise in polysilicon prices has led to an increase in the production cost of silicon wafers, along with sustained overseas demand downstream, providing support for current silicon wafer prices. In the medium term, the trend of silicon wafer prices still depends on end demand and the degree to which component prices rise are accepted.
