CITIC TELECOM (01883): Resuming trading in the afternoon of September 18 to extend the franchise agreement period.

CITIC TELECOM (01883) announced that the concession agreement between Macau Telecom and the Macau government will expire on September 30, 2025. On September 18, 2025, Macau Telecom and the Macau government entered into a supplemental agreement, details as follows: The term of the concession agreement is extended for another two years, from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2027. After September 30, 2026, the Macau government can terminate the concession agreement with 60 days notice to Macau Telecom; The designated assets and investments under the concession agreement will become the property of the Macau Special Administrative Region on October 1, 2025, but Macau Telecom still retains the right to continue using the concession assets; Starting from October 1, 2025, the concession assets will be opened for shared use by public telecommunications network operators in the Macau Special Administrative Region according to the principles of "fairness, transparency, and user pays". Besides being used for concession services, Macau Telecom will use the concession assets in a paid manner, with the related fees to be agreed upon with the Macau government; and From January 1, 2026, Macau Telecom will assist the Macau government in handling shared use applications for concession assets, including establishing management systems, charging, and usage allocation, among others. During the term of the supplemental agreement, Macau Telecom and the Macau government will continue to negotiate on details that are yet to be determined. The net book value of the concession assets as of June 30, 2025 is approximately HK$215 million. The company believes that entering into the supplemental agreement is a continuation of the principles established in the previous supplemental agreement dated September 30, 2024, which will benefit the future development of Macau Telecom. Macau Telecom will continue to play its role in supporting the development of Macau society and providing services. The company has submitted an application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the resumption of trading in shares starting from September 18, 2025 (Thursday) at 1 pm.
