Japan will launch an anti-dumping investigation against steel products from China and South Korea, the latest measure taken by the country to protect local producers and respond to import pressures. The Ministry of Trade and Finance in Japan said in a statement on Wednesday that the investigation is expected to be completed within a year, focusing on the flow of hot-dip galvanized sheets and strips. In April of this year, four companies including Nippon Steel and Kobe Steel applied for the investigation. The Japanese Ministry of Trade and Finance stated that they will provide an opportunity for relevant parties, including suppliers from South Korea and China, to present evidence, and then decide whether to impose tariffs.
