"China Tower's office terminal product centralized procurement for 2025 settled: Huawei and Lenovo win the bid"
On July 8, CHINA TOWER announced the winning results of the centralized bidding project for office terminals in 2025. According to the previous bidding announcement, the project was divided into 3 packages, and this announcement only disclosed the winning results of the two packages for laptops and desktop computers. In package 1 (laptops), Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. won the bid with the highest overall ranking, and Lenovo Tianyi Technology Co., Ltd. ranked second overall. According to the bidding documents, this package plans to purchase a total of 8850 laptops, with 2 winning bidders, with allocation shares of 60% and 40% respectively. Package 2 (desktop computers) was exclusively won by Lenovo Tianyi Technology Co., Ltd. with a bid share of 100%. This package plans to purchase a total of 1790 desktop computers, with 1 winning bidder. Recently, the Central State Government Procurement Center announced the bid results for the June 2025 batch centralized procurement project for desktop computers. The budget for this project was 37.84 million Yuan, covering desktop computers with various chip architectures including domestic and international mainstream chips. Domestic chip desktop computers occupied a significant share in this procurement, and companies under Lenovo showed strong competitiveness in multiple packages. Data shows that Lenovo won bids for central government and state-owned enterprise procurement projects multiple times this year. For example, in January 2025, Lenovo Tianyi Technology Co., Ltd. won bids for packages 1, 2, 3, and 5 with bid amounts of 183,040 Yuan, 296,400 Yuan, 116,200 Yuan, and 413,504 Yuan respectively. Package 6 was won by Lenovo (Beijing) Co., Ltd. with a bid amount as high as 2.906575 million Yuan. It can be seen that central government agencies and central enterprises centralized procurement of various Lenovo PC products, indicating the high security and service capabilities of Lenovo PC products are acknowledged by the government. According to the latest data from IDC on the global PC market, the global PC shipment volume reached a record high of 63.20 million units in Q1 2025, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. Lenovo maintained the global number one position with a market share of 24.1%, a 1.3 percentage point increase year-on-year, and a 10.8% year-on-year growth rate, making it the fastest growing among the top three manufacturers. IDC predicts a 4% year-on-year growth in global PC shipments for 2025, with AI PCs becoming a key variable driving demand. By 2027, AI PCs are expected to account for 70% of the global PC shipment market share. International bank Lyon's latest view is that Lenovo's PC business will continue its strong growth momentum in the second half of 2025, driven by: 1) continued market share gains from competitors, with shares being taken from Dell and HP in the US and EU markets, and from Huawei in the Chinese market; 2) the replacement demand of devices generated by the end of support for Windows 10 system in October; 3) the launch of new artificial intelligence (AI) models.
