In June 2025, the China Road Logistics Freight Price Index, jointly surveyed by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and Lin'an Logistics Group, was 105.1 points, a month-on-month increase of 0.06% and a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. Looking at the month, the freight price index slightly increased in the first and fourth weeks, while overall remaining stable in the other weeks.
Looking at the index by vehicle type, the various vehicle type indices showed mixed changes month-on-month, with a slight increase compared to the same period last year. The full truck index, mainly for bulk commodities and regional transport, was 105.7 points, a month-on-month increase of 0.09% and a year-on-year increase of 3.22%. In the less-than-truckload index, the less-than-truckload light cargo index was 102.6 points, a decrease of 0.04% from the previous month and an increase of 1.4% from the same period last year; the less-than-truckload heavy cargo index was 105.7 points, an increase of 0.08% from the previous month and an increase of 3.33% from the same period last year.
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing stated that overall, the economic recovery momentum was consolidated this month, with market demand picking up and the road transportation market remaining active. The freight price index was generally stable, with a slight upward trend. On one hand, demand for bulk commodities remained stable, with the full truck and less-than-truckload heavy cargo price indices showing a stable increase month-on-month; holiday consumption release and mid-year e-commerce promotion activities significantly strengthened e-commerce consumption, leading to a slight improvement in the light cargo market, with the less-than-truckload light cargo price index showing a narrowing month-on-month decrease. On the other hand, with the easing international trade situation and continuous expansion of domestic demand, the various vehicle type price indices showed a slight year-on-year increase trend compared to last year. Looking at different regions, the freight price indices in the Northeast, Central China, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Southwest regions showed some increase, while those in North China, Southeast Coastal, Shandong Peninsula, and Northwest regions showed some decline.
Looking ahead, as policy effects continue to drive implementation and domestic market demand steadily expands, enterprise production and market expectations are positive. With the arrival of the summer holiday peak, efforts should be made to ensure smooth personal travel and freight vehicle passage, while actively promoting improvements in the working environment for freight drivers in various regions. In the third quarter, it is expected that the road market may experience seasonal fluctuations, coupled with adverse weather conditions such as high temperatures and heavy rainfall in some areas, the freight price index may fluctuate and experience a slight decline.
