Guo Minghao pointed out that Apple sees head-worn devices as the next key trend in consumer electronics, and is expected to release multiple products starting from 2027.
Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingchi's latest article predicts that Apple Inc. will not release any new head-worn devices in 2026, and plans to start releasing multiple products from 2027 onwards. He points out that Apple Inc. sees head-worn devices as the next key trend in consumer electronics, with at least 7 projects currently in development, including 3 Vision series and 4 smart glasses series. Five of these products have confirmed development timelines, while two are still pending. Among Apple's head-worn products, the first to be mass-produced will be smart glasses similar to Ray-Ban, with an estimated shipment volume of 3-5 million units or more in 2027. The market size of this type of smart glasses in 2027 may exceed 10 million units due to Apple's entry, making it a noteworthy new trend. Guo Mingchi also states that Apple Inc.'s competitive advantage in the Vision series and smart glasses lies in its strong hardware development capabilities and ecosystem integration, with the main challenge being AI-driven systems and software. He also points out that before Apple Inc.'s smart glasses are launched, several brands are expected to release products ahead in order to gain an advantage and exposure, but with room for improvement in technology and design, such products are expected to serve as niche products in the next 2 years. The specific product roadmap for Apple Inc. is as follows: 1. Vision series: Vision Pro M5 version: planned for mass production in the third quarter of 2025, with an estimated shipment volume of 150,000-200,000 units in 2025, upgrading the processor from M2 to M5, while keeping other specifications the same. Vision Air: planned for mass production in the third quarter of 2027, featuring a new design with significantly reduced weight compared to Vision Pro, over 40% lighter, and equipped with Apple Inc.'s latest iPhone processor, at a significantly lower price than Vision Pro. New Vision Pro second generation: expected for mass production in 2028, featuring a new design with significantly lighter weight and equipped with a Mac-level processor. 2. Smart glasses series: Apple Inc. smart glasses similar to Meta Ray-Ban are planned for mass production in the second quarter of 2027, with an estimated shipment volume reaching 3-5 million units or more in 2027, supporting voice control and gesture operation, audio playback, video recording, and AI environmental perception. XR glasses: planned for mass production in 2028.
