On Friday, Jinko Solar (JKS.US) rose more than 5%, reaching $21.79. In terms of news, a recent announcement from Jinko Solar showed that the company's wholly-owned subsidiary Zhejiang Jinko Solar Limited has once again broken a global record for the conversion efficiency of its self-developed N-type TOPCon high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, "demonstrating the company's strong ability to continue leading the forefront of photovoltaic technology and industry development, marking another major breakthrough for the company's N-type TOPCon technology achievements."
The efficiency breakthrough of Jinko Solar's TOPCon cells is significant for this technology route. Sealand previously pointed out that, after two years of joint efforts in the industry, the non-silicon costs of TOPCon cells have almost reached the level of PERC cells, with limited room for further material cost reductions. The key is whether they can continue to improve efficiency. "The competition in efficiency cost between TOPCon, HJT, and XBC will determine the direction of the next round of technological iteration."
