The results of the June desktop procurement by the Centralized Procurement Group are out: Lenovo won the largest bid amount, while Huawei's Kunpeng came in second.
Recently, the Central State Organs Government Procurement Center issued the winning bid announcement for the bulk centralized procurement project of desktop computers for 2025 in June. The budget for this project is 37.84 million yuan, covering various desktop computers with chip architectures including domestic chips and international mainstream chips. In this procurement, desktop computers with domestic chips have occupied a significant share. The specific winning bids are as follows: Package 1 (Loongson): Dawning Information Industry Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 949,980 yuan. Package 2 (Feiteng): China Greatwall Technology Group Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 2.61936 million yuan. Package 3 (Zhaoxin): Lenovo (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 1.4849 million yuan. Package 4 (Huawei Kunpeng): Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 8.60013 million yuan. Package 5 (Haiguang): Lenovo Beijing Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 6.259968 million yuan. Package 6 (Shenwei): Tianjin Guodian-Xianan Advanced Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 1.21412 million yuan. Package 7 (Intel and AMD chips): Lenovo (Beijing) Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning bid amount of 10.59993 million yuan. Market analysis points out that the results of the Central State Organs' desktop computer procurement project reflect the important position of domestic chips in government procurement and demonstrate the progress of domestic chip manufacturers in technology research and development and product performance. At the same time, the winning bids from international manufacturers also indicate that international mainstream products are not excluded from the centralized procurement scope, and may compete fiercely with domestic chips in the future. In this procurement, subsidiary companies under LENOVO GROUP demonstrated strong competitiveness in multiple packages. Data shows that so far, this is not the first time Lenovo PC has won central government and state-owned enterprise procurement projects this year. For example, the results of the January 2025 central procurement desktop computer bidding showed that Lenovo Open Tian Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid for the first, second, third, and fifth packages, with winning bid amounts of 183,040 yuan, 296,400 yuan, 116,200 yuan, and 413,504 yuan respectively. The sixth package was won by Lenovo (Beijing) Co., Ltd. with a high winning bid amount of 2.906575 million yuan. It can be seen that the centralized procurement of various PC products by central state organs and direct state organs acknowledges the high security of Lenovo products, which also means that the government and state-owned enterprises affirm and recognize the strength and service capabilities of Lenovo PC products. According to the latest data released by IDC on the global PC market, the shipment volume of PCs worldwide reached 63.2 million units in Q1 2025, a record high, with a year-on-year growth of 4.9%. Among them, Lenovo maintained the top spot in the global market with a market share of 24.1%, an increase of 1.3 percentage points year-on-year, and became the fastest-growing manufacturer among the top three with a year-on-year growth rate of 10.8%, continuing to occupy a leading position in the global PC market. IDC predicts that PC shipments in 2025 will increase by 4% year-on-year, with AI PCs becoming a key variable driving demand. By 2027, AI PCs will account for 70% of the global PC shipment market share, as hardware upgrades drive the maturation of application ecosystems and further showcase user value. As a leader in the global PC market, LENOVO GROUP has continued to increase its investment in innovation in the medium to long term in recent years. Financial reports show that Lenovo Group's R&D investment increased by 13% year-on-year, with R&D personnel accounting for 27.8%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points year-on-year, demonstrating its commitment to seizing the opportunities of the AI era. Building on the release of the first AI PC personal intelligent body last year, Lenovo Group has recently proposed the concept of "super intelligent body," taking another crucial step in realizing the vision of "intelligent twins" in the AI era.
