Industry's First Rider Family Hospitalization Protection Implemented Meituan Upgrades Major Illness Care Plan Covering Over One Million Rider Families

On February 6th, Meituan officially announced that it will upgrade the "Rider Serious Illness Care Plan" starting from February 10th. The platform will fund it, providing free supplementary medical insurance coverage for over one million stable delivery riders and their family members (including parents, spouses, and children) nationwide. "The Rider Serious Illness Care Project has supported 7,570 riders and their family members, with care funds exceeding 2.1 billion yuan, and the highest single payout being 200,000 yuan," said the person in charge of Meituan's rider protection. After this upgrade, riders and their families in Meituan's direct-managed cities who are diagnosed with any of the 101 serious diseases or 51 minor illnesses covered by the plan can be reimbursed for inpatient medical expenses exceeding 5,000 yuan, making it the first in the industry to provide inpatient medical coverage for all types of riders and their core family members.
