Ministry of Commerce: Prohibit Illumina, Inc. from exporting gene sequencers to China.
The unreliable entity list mechanism decided to include Illumina, Inc. from the United States on February 4, 2025.
To safeguard the national sovereignty, security, and development interests, in accordance with the relevant laws such as the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, and based on the relevant provisions of the "Unreliable Entity List Regulations", the Unreliable Entity List working mechanism has decided to include Illumina, Inc. of the United States on the Unreliable Entity List on February 4, 2025. It is decided to take the following measures against the company: prohibit it from exporting gene sequencers to China.
