According to the latest data from the China Automobile Dealers Association, preliminary data estimates that the wholesale sales of passenger car manufacturers in Shanxi Guoxin Energy Corporation in January were 900,000 vehicles, a 31% increase compared to January 2024, but a 40% decrease from the previous month. As the Spring Festival falls on January 29, 2025, January 2025 is a year with lower sales volume, which is affected by the end of the annual scrappage and replacement policies in 2024. Although related policies are still in effect in January 2025, many consumers had completed their replacement car purchase plans before the Spring Festival in December 2024. Therefore, the car market in January this year is slightly weaker compared to the previous years' booming market. The industry is facing pressure of low sales growth in January, so some manufacturers will consider shifting a certain amount of sales to ensure a good start for January 2025 after meeting their targets for 2024 adjustments. On January 15, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the "High-Quality Development of China's Economy". The Ministry of Commerce announced that in 2024, over 6.8 million vehicles were traded in through the "old-for-new" program, driving related product sales to exceed 1.3 trillion yuan. Recently, the central finance authority has allocated the first batch of funds for the "old-for-new" program in 2025, amounting to 81 billion yuan. The Ministry of Commerce has also issued detailed rules for subsidies for the "old-for-new" program in 2025 to support the replacement of automobiles, household appliances, home decoration, and electric bicycles. With the continuous effectiveness of various consumption-expanding policy measures, the consumer market for cars is gradually warming up. Due to strong consumer price expectations, some car companies have conducted strong promotional campaigns with good results. According to data from China Passenger Car Association, in December 2024, the sales volume of new energy vehicles from manufacturers selling over ten thousand vehicles accounted for 94.2% of the total sales of new energy passenger cars in December. Based on preliminary data, these manufacturers selling over ten thousand new energy vehicles in December had sales of 856,000 vehicles in January.
