By the end of 2024, there were a total of 108,905 terminals and QR code displayed for local mobile payments.
By the end of 2024, the total credit amount approved by Macao banks was 49.9 billion MOP, an increase of 0.3% from the previous quarter. The total receivables for credit cards amounted to 2.8 billion MOP; among them, revolving credit accounted for 790 million MOP, equivalent to 27.9% of the total receivables at the end of the period. On the other hand, the delinquency ratio, measured by comparing the overdue accounts exceeding three months to the total receivables, decreased from 2.8% at the end of September 2024 to 2.6%.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the total amount of credit card transactions in Macao was 6.2 billion MOP, an increase of 0.4% from the previous quarter; among them, cash advances amounted to 160 million MOP, equivalent to 2.5% of the total transactions. The number of credit card transactions was 12.68 million, an increase of 8.1% from the previous quarter. The total repayment amount, including interest and fees, was 6.2 billion MOP, a decrease of 2.3% from the previous quarter. Additionally, the number of debit card transactions excluding cash withdrawals was 1.2 million, with a total amount of 5.5 billion MOP.
