According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the capacity utilization rate of industrial enterprises above designated size in China was 76.2%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from the same period of the previous year and 1.1 percentage points from the third quarter.
Breaking it down by three major categories, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the capacity utilization rate in the mining industry was 75.6%; in the manufacturing industry it was 76.4%; and in the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water it was 74.8%.
Looking at the major industries, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the capacity utilization rate was as follows: coal mining and washing industry - 73.9%, food manufacturing - 70.7%, textile industry - 78.8%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing - 76.4%, non-metallic mineral products - 61.1%, black metal smelting and rolling processing - 78.1%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing - 79.3%, general equipment manufacturing - 79.6%, special equipment manufacturing - 76.7%, automobile manufacturing - 77.2%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing - 76.8%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing - 79.4%.
