China Southern Airlines (01055) announced that in December 2024, the group's passenger transport capacity (measured in available seat kilometers) increased by 3.33% year-on-year. Domestically, it decreased by 1.78%, while regionally and internationally it increased by 1.11% and 20.04% respectively. Passenger traffic (measured in revenue passenger kilometers) increased by 10.07% year-on-year, with domestic, regional, and international traffic increasing by 3.44%, 7.45%, and 32.50% respectively. The passenger load factor was 84.55%, up by 5.17 percentage points year-on-year, with domestic, regional, and international load factors increasing by 4.26, 4.49, and 8.02 percentage points respectively.
Regarding cargo transportation, in December 2024, the group's cargo transport capacity (measured in available ton kilometers for cargo and mail) decreased by 8.62% year-on-year, while cargo and mail traffic (measured in revenue ton kilometers for cargo and mail) decreased by 2.05% year-on-year. The cargo and mail load factor was 55.89%, up by 3.75 percentage points year-on-year.
In December 2024, the group added the following major routes: Beijing Daxing - Vientiane - Beijing Daxing (seven flights a week).
In December 2024, the group introduced 8 aircraft (including 3 A321NEO aircraft, 2 A319NEO aircraft, 1 A320NEO aircraft, 1 ARJ21 aircraft, and 1 C919 aircraft), and retired 10 aircraft (including 6 A319 aircraft, 2 E190 aircraft, 1 A332 aircraft, and 1 A321 aircraft). By the end of December 2024, the group operated a total of 917 transport aircraft.
