In November 2024, the crude steel production of 71 countries/regions included in the World Steel Association's statistics reached 146.8 million tons, an increase of 0.8% year-on-year. Among the top ten countries in crude steel production in November, China produced 78.4 million tons, an increase of 2.5% year-on-year; India produced 12.4 million tons, an increase of 4.5% year-on-year; Japan produced 6.9 million tons, a decrease of 3.1% year-on-year; the United States produced 6.4 million tons, a decrease of 2.8% year-on-year; Russia's estimated crude steel production was 5.5 million tons, a decrease of 9.2% year-on-year.
Crude steel production by region:
In November 2024, Africa produced 1.8 million tons of crude steel, a decrease of 5.0% year-on-year; Asia and Oceania produced 107.4 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year; the EU (27 countries) produced 10.7 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year; other European countries produced 3.4 million tons of crude steel, a decrease of 5.5% year-on-year; the Middle East produced 5.1 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year; North America produced 8.5 million tons of crude steel, a decrease of 5.2% year-on-year; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine produced 6.5 million tons of crude steel, a decrease of 7.8% year-on-year; South America produced 3.4 million tons of crude steel, a decrease of 3.4% year-on-year.
