VITASOY INT'L (00345) rose nearly 4% in the afternoon, with a cumulative increase of more than 1.3 times since the end of September. As of the time of writing, it rose by 3.5% to HK$10.34, with a turnover of HK$36.2207 million.
On the news front, information disclosed by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange showed that on October 7, SINO LAND chairman Huang Zhixiang's younger brother Huang Zhida, for the first time, declared that through his company and family office Yang Xiecheng, he collectively holds more than 5% of Vitasoy's shares. By October 24, his shareholding had increased to 10.06%, reaching the threshold for convening a shareholders' meeting. In addition, Huang Zhixiang and his Far East institutions also hold 5% of Vitasoy's shares, meaning the Huang family collectively holds over 15% of the shares.
It is worth noting that recently, Vitasoy implemented a widespread "official price reduction" on its product line. According to a circulated "Vitasoy Limited" notice on price adjustments for the Vitasoy tea series, the wholesale prices of various tea beverages in three sizes 250ml single pack, 500ml PET, and 310ml gift box, were reduced by approximately HK$2 per unit. Industry insiders believe that Vitasoy's price reduction is not only influenced by the decline in sugar prices, but also as a response to the long-standing issue of price undercutting.
