According to reports, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005) is considering appointing its first female Chief Financial Officer in its 159-year history. Chief Risk and Compliance Officer Pam Kaur, who is 60 years old, is reportedly a top contender for the CFO position, which became vacant after the former CEO, Qi Yaoning, was replaced by Margaret Zhang on September 2nd. The news indicates that other potential candidates include Global Banking and Markets Head Greg Guyett, Strategy and Corporate Development Head Willard McLane, and HSBC Europe and Western Markets CFO Kavita Mahtani. Reports stated that a final decision has not yet been made, and other candidates may still join the race. A representative of HSBC declined to comment.
