World Steel Association: China's crude steel production in August was 77.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.4%.

On September 24th, the World Steel Association released the global crude steel production for August 2024. As of August 2024, the world crude steel production reported by 71 countries/regions to the World Steel Association was 144.8 million tons (Mt), a decrease of 6.5% compared to August 2023. Among them, China's crude steel production in August was 77.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.4%. India's production was 12.3 million tons, an increase of 2.6%. Japan's production was 6.9 million tons, a decrease of 3.9%.
