Haitong (06837) has issued an announcement that as of the date of this announcement, the company is planning to merge with Guotai Junan Securities, which requires approval from both respective boards of directors and shareholder meetings, as well as regulatory approval before formal implementation. Prior to the official announcement of the proposed merger, approval or consent must be obtained from the relevant regulatory authorities.
At the request of the company, trading of the company's H shares and certain guaranteed bonds disclosed in the announcement will be suspended from 9:00 a.m. on September 6, 2024 (Friday), and will continue to be suspended pending the release of an announcement containing insider information in accordance with the "Takeovers and Mergers Code".
