CICC released a research report stating that according to industry online data, the domestic sales shipment of household air conditioners in August this year was 7.54 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.4%; the export shipment volume was 5.52 million units, a year-on-year increase of 31.5%. It is expected that the inventory clearance of air conditioners will soon end, and domestic sales shipments are expected to increase year-on-year in the near future. It is also expected that the performance of white goods retail in September will be good. The export of air conditioners is expected to continue to improve in the first half of 2023 to 2024, and there will be a high demand for air conditioners in the overseas market in the summer of 2024, exceeding market expectations for multiple months.
Sinolink pointed out that the household appliance sector has outperformed the market as a whole since 2024. Specifically, the cumulative increase in white goods leads, while small household appliances remain relatively stable, and black goods, kitchen appliances, etc. are under more pressure. In the first half of 2024, the production of white goods was positive, with relatively stable domestic sales, and the export chain continued to exceed expectations due to the replenishment in Europe and the United States and demand from emerging markets.
