The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00388) announced today (September 20) the establishment of a dedicated team for the Integrated Fund Platform (IFP). The team will bring together various professionals and stakeholders in the fund distribution industry to promote the establishment of a more efficient, diversified, and vibrant fund distribution ecosystem in Hong Kong. With the support of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, HKEX is actively developing an Integrated Fund Platform to provide services and support for the overall value chain and ecosystem of the local fund distribution industry. The dedicated team will gather valuable insights and feedback from members to improve the design of the Integrated Fund Platform and better shape the future of the platform. Soo Ying Ying, Co-Head of Markets at HKEX, said: "HKEX is committed to enhancing Hong Kong's attractiveness and competitiveness as an international financial center by promoting diversified market development and offering a wider range of choices to global investors. With the support of the Integrated Fund Platform dedicated team, we hope to create a fund distribution network that provides a wider range of products to the market, increases market efficiency, fosters a deeper and more diversified local investment fund ecosystem, and strengthens Hong Kong's role as a global wealth management center." The dedicated team is composed of representatives from different fund industry associations and market participants, including: Lyxor Hong Kong Limited, Eastspring Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, The Securities and Futures Association of Asia, BlackRock Asset Management North Asia Limited, The Hong Kong Chinese Asset Management Association, GF Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited, The Hong Kong Investment Funds Association, Schroder Investment Management Limited, J.P. Morgan Funds (Asia) Limited, and Taikang Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited. The Integrated Fund Platform includes a product database covering fund products approved by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, aiming to make it easier for investors to access fund product information and improve the transparency of fund investment product information. The Integrated Fund Platform will also provide a centralized network connecting different participants in the fund distribution ecosystem, such as fund managers and distributors, to facilitate fund order delivery, subscription and redemption, and agent services. More details will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2024.
