NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) will partner with the UAE artificial intelligence company G42 to create a climate technology laboratory. According to a statement on Friday, the two companies will focus on developing artificial intelligence that can improve the accuracy of weather forecasts. They will rely on NVIDIA Corporation's climate digital twin cloud platform Earth-2, which aims to help scientists and researchers better understand and predict the impacts of climate change by using high-precision simulation and visualization technologies, thereby reducing economic losses caused by extreme weather. The statement noted that the climate technology laboratory "will serve as a research center to drive both companies' commitment to environmental sustainability" and will also "mobilize the creation of tailored climate and weather solutions using over 100PB of geophysical data assets." NVIDIA Corporation, a chip manufacturer at the center of the artificial intelligence spending boom, has been speeding up the development of new products while expanding its business scope. In June of this year, NVIDIA Corporation announced plans to upgrade its artificial intelligence accelerators annually, with a roadmap that includes the new Blackwell product line set to be launched by the end of this year and the next-generation platform Rubin, planned for release in 2026. Earlier this week, Microsoft Corporation and G42 announced a collaboration to establish an artificial intelligence research institute, opening two centers in Abu Dhabi to carry out "responsible" artificial intelligence projects. The two companies stated that this deal builds on a partnership formed in April, in which Microsoft Corporation invested $1.5 billion in G42. G42 also has a partnership with OpenAI, which is seeking expansion in the Gulf region. The collaboration with NVIDIA Corporation will help strengthen the UAE's position as a leading artificial intelligence superpower in the Middle East. The CEO of G42 stated that the partnership with NVIDIA Corporation will not only pave the way for innovation but also for addressing critical global challenges.
