Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group (002385.SZ) announced that on September 12, 2024, local time in Brazil, the Brazilian National Biosafety Technical Committee (CTNBio) published the resolution of its September 2024 meeting on the official Brazilian website. The genetically modified insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant soybean transformation event DBN8002 developed by the company's controlling subsidiary, Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Biotechnology Co., Ltd. ("Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Biotechnology"), has passed the safety evaluation review and been granted planting approval, with a public notice period of 30 days. This is another soybean transformation event approved for planting in Brazil by Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Biotechnology, following the approval of the herbicide-tolerant soybean transformation event DBN9004 (DBN-09004-6). DBN8002 is a genetically modified soybean transformation event developed by Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Biotechnology, which combines insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant traits. It shows high resistance to over ten Lepidoptera pests at home and abroad, such as fall armyworm and sugarcane borer, and can tolerate high doses of glufosinate-ammonium herbicides. DBN8002 is suitable for regions covering the Huang-Huai-Hai region in China, the southern regions of China, and the northern regions of Brazil and Argentina in South America. DBN8002 was granted planting approval in Argentina in November 2022. The approval for planting in Brazil is another significant progress for Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Biotechnology in expanding its presence in the South American market, and it plays a positive role in the company's development in the Brazilian market. Currently, DBN8002 has obtained import approval in China and will be involved in commercial cooperation and promotion in Brazil. However, to fully achieve free trade and cultivation, it still needs to obtain import approval from other major soybean-consuming countries.
