In August, the postal industry's volume of express delivery services reached 15.94 billion pieces, an increase of 17.3% year-on-year. Among them, the volume of express delivery services reached 14.38 billion pieces, an increase of 19.5% year-on-year.
According to the data from the State Post Bureau, in August, the postal industry completed a total of 15.94 billion deliveries, an increase of 17.3% year-on-year. Among them, the express delivery volume reached 14.38 billion, an increase of 19.5% year-on-year. In August, the postal industry's business revenue reached 137.01 billion yuan, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year. Among them, express delivery revenue reached 114.12 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9% year-on-year.
From January to August, the postal industry completed a total of 121.17 billion deliveries, an increase of 20.0% year-on-year. Among them, the express delivery volume reached 108.80 billion, an increase of 22.5% year-on-year (calculated on a comparable basis).
From January to August, the volume of same-city express deliveries reached 10.02 billion, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year; the volume of intercity express deliveries reached 96.46 billion, an increase of 22.8% year-on-year; and the volume of international/ Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan express deliveries reached 2.32 billion, an increase of 24.2% year-on-year.
From January to August, the total business revenue of the postal industry (excluding the direct business revenue of postal savings banks) reached 1,076.81 billion yuan, an increase of 10.9% year-on-year. Among them, the total revenue from express delivery reached 877.89 billion yuan, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year.
From January to August, the proportions of same-city, intercity, and international/Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan express delivery volume to the total express delivery volume were 9.2%, 88.7%, and 2.1% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of same-city express delivery volume decreased by 0.3 percentage points, the proportion of intercity express delivery volume increased by 0.3 percentage points, and the proportion of international/Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan delivery volume remained stable.
From January to August, the proportions of express delivery volume in the eastern, central, and western regions were 72.8%, 18.5%, and 8.7% respectively, while the proportions of business revenue were 74.8%, 15.0%, and 10.2% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express delivery volume in the eastern region decreased by 2.2 percentage points, and the proportion of business revenue decreased by 1.2 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery volume in the central region increased by 1.3 percentage points, and the proportion of business revenue increased by 0.7 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery volume in the western region increased by 0.9 percentage points, and the proportion of business revenue increased by 0.5 percentage points.
From January to August, the concentration index of express and parcel service brands (CR8) was 85.2, which remained relatively stable compared to January to July.
