On September 6th, Lenovo (00992) held the 2024 Create Shanghai New World Conference during the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany, and unveiled several groundbreaking AI PCs. Among them, several products use the latest Ryzen AI processor, with NPU performance reaching the highest 50 TOPS currently available on the market. Luca Rossi, Executive Vice President of LENOVO GROUP and President of the Intelligent Devices Group (IDG), said, "Today, we are launching new Lenovo ThinkPad, ThinkBook, and Yoga series laptops, all of which use third-generation Ryzen AI technology. Additionally, we are introducing additional choices of IdeaPad laptops." Among them, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s AMD Gen 6 is the first x86 next-generation AI PC introduced by the ThinkPad brand for business users. It features the new AMD Ryzen AI PRO and new Radeon integrated graphics drivers, providing an astonishing 50 TOPS performance with NPU, meaning outstanding responsiveness and fast multitasking, as well as an excellent 17-hour battery life. The ThinkPad t14 also offers world-class security, ensuring confidence for enterprises regarding productivity and protection. For small and medium-sized businesses and professional users, the new ThinkBook 16 Gen 7+ and Yoga Pro 7 laptops come equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor, with NPU performance also reaching 50 TOPS. This means that compared to previous generations, its artificial intelligence performance has tripled, allowing for efficient handling of demanding tasks such as 4K video editing or complex 3D model rendering. Ryzen AI 9 processor paves the way for the future of personalized artificial intelligence computing. The new laptops based on Ryzen also include the new IdeaPad Slim5 in 15-inch and 13-inch sizes. Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President of AMD, General Manager of Computing and Graphics, said, "AMD and Lenovo have been jointly innovating and designing for over 25 years. During this time, our partnership has continually improved, bringing some of the most advanced devices to the market. I have personally been testing and using the ThinkPad T14, and I love it! It's an incredible device." Furthermore, AMD's EPYC CPU powers one-third of the world's data centers and cloud workloads and continues to grow. EPYC is the preferred CPU for large-scale enterprises, supporting the cloud services used by billions of people globally every day, whether it's Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, WeChat, or WhatsApp. The world's largest and most advanced artificial intelligence models run perfectly on AMD's data center GPUs at the highest cost-effectiveness (including GPT-4). "We are bringing all the technologies from the server and data center end to the enterprise end. That's the reason we designed Ryzen AI 300, which is perfect for enterprises," said Jack Huynh. Jack Huynh announced, "Today, we are delighted to announce the release of the first enterprise Copilot+ PC with ThinkPad. Enterprise CIOs no longer need to choose between Windows enterprise compatibility and reliability - you can now use Windows, Ryzen AI, and ThinkPad simultaneously." In terms of performance, AMD is also in a leading position, with its performance compared to Apple M3 exceeding by 1.7 times. AMD hopes that Ryzen AI will become the preferred platform for developers based on open technology, and is creating an ecosystem composed of ISVs, OEMs, and partners.
