On August 22nd, the National Energy Administration released data on the total electricity consumption in July. In July, the total electricity consumption in the whole society was 939.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 14.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 565.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.0% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 187.1 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 172.7 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year.
From January to July, the total electricity consumption in the whole society accumulated to 559.71 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year, with industrial electricity consumption of 53.239 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 76.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 36.329 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 10.396 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 11.0% year-on-year; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 84.82 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year.
