North Korea test-fires a new type of air defense missile.

The DPRK Missile Administration conducted a test-fire of a new-type anti-aircraft missile system on the 4th, KCNA reported on the 5th. The report said the test-fire verified the technology and reliability of new flight vehicle materials, intelligent multi-layered composite guidance methods, target recognition and tracking capabilities, and detection information processing devices. The report also said that on the same day, a firepower subunit under the long-range strategic cruise missile unit in the eastern region conducted a demonstration firepower training, and the participating subunit used long-range strategic cruise missiles to complete strikes on simulated airfield targets.
