High-end lithium iron phosphate supply remains tight; listed companies actively expand production capacity.
"Overall, high-end lithium iron phosphate is expected to remain in a state of tight supply in 2027." On November 2, a listed cathode materials company in Hunan made this judgment at its third-quarter earnings briefing. On the same day, another listed lithium-ion battery materials company in Guangdong also said at its third-quarter earnings briefing that, based on current market demand, the supply-demand relationship for fourth-generation and above products is relatively tight. "Demand for fourth-generation lithium iron phosphate is expected to continue growing next year. Market capacity capable of supplying fourth-generation high-compaction products stably and with high quality is relatively limited, and supply will remain relatively tight." Currently, listed companies' lithium iron phosphate capacity expansion has clearly shifted toward the high-end high-compaction route. A review by the reporter found that many newly planned and newly commissioned production lines at listed companies are being built to fourth-generation and above standards, and some lines have reserved compatibility with fifth-generation lithium iron phosphate materials.
