On the evening of the 4th local time, the Yemeni Houthi armed group issued a statement claiming to have launched multiple military operations against targets within Saudi Arabia. The statement said the Houthis used ballistic missiles to strike King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, and that the missiles directly hit the target and caused severe damage to the airport. The statement warned that King Khalid International Airport is currently not safe. The Houthis once again called on global airlines, airport staff and passengers not to travel through Saudi airspace, with the exception of the airspace over Mecca and Medina.
