ECB President: On monetary policy, I am a "hawk."
Recently, CMG's "High-Level Interview" program conducted an exclusive interview with European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde. When discussing her stance on monetary policy, Lagarde said she is an "owl." European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said: Actually, this is quite interesting. I have held this position for seven years now. During this time, I have observed that colleagues and friends all adopt what they consider an appropriate stance on monetary policy, either "hawkish" or "dovish." But I have also seen some people shift from "dovish" to "lean hawkish," or from "hawkish" to "lean dovish." This shows that everyone responds to changing circumstances based on their own judgment and their theories about monetary policy. People are willing to adjust their views and revise their analysisthis is a good thing and a healthy sign, after all, the objective situation is also changing. I still belong to the "owl" camp, because in my view, my duty is to pay close attention to all kinds of information and listen to all sides. I hope that all decisions are built on the basis of internal analysis and assessment, exchanges of views, and full discussion within the Governing Council, so that the final view formed can maximize consensus and all members can jointly bear the corresponding responsibility.
