Google launches Gemini 4 Carbon frontier AI model
Google shares rose to an intraday high after the company released its new-generation frontier AI model, Gemini 4 Carbon. The model is designed to maintain cybersecurity defense capabilities and handle complex engineering problems. Carbon can handle long-running agentic workflows, generate secure code, and reduce the rate at which the model deviates from alignment goals and produces fabricated content. Carbon is intended to build further on the Gemini 4 Argon model that Google launched two weeks ago. Google plans to gather feedback from cybersecurity defense testers before opening Carbon to consumers. Carbon is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Google shares rose 1.5%.
