Shanghai: By 2028, cultivate 500 advanced-level smart factories and drive 8,000 humanoid robots into factories.

The reporter learned from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization that, in order to thoroughly implement the national strategic deployment on accelerating the development of a new generation of intelligent manufacturing and to promote the intelligent transformation and upgrading of all factors, all links, and the entire process of Shanghai's manufacturing industry, the "Shanghai Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of a New Generation of Intelligent Manufacturing" was officially released recently. The new generation of intelligent manufacturing is an advanced production mode formed by the deep integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing. The action plan proposes that, following the overall approach of "scenario-driven, model-driven, equipment upgrading, and capability spillover," with the integration of AI and the entire manufacturing chain as the main line and smart factories as the key carrier, the intelligent technology foundation will be consolidated and the supply of intelligent products and services will be strengthened. By 2028, the goal is to achieve full coverage of smart factories among key manufacturing enterprises across the city, promote the full popularization of AI applications in smart factories, cultivate 500 advanced-level smart factories, achieve breakthroughs in more than 2,000 AI application scenarios in manufacturing, develop 10 advanced and applicable vertical-domain large models, launch more than 300 high-level intelligent agents, and build new infrastructure that meets the needs of the new generation of intelligent manufacturing. The industrial robot density is to reach 600 units per 10,000 people, 8,000 humanoid robots are to be introduced into factories, the scale of the AI-empowered new intelligent manufacturing equipment industry is to exceed 200 billion yuan, and the scale of the intelligent manufacturing system integration industry is to reach 100 billion yuan, completing the "54321" goals.
