This year, inbound and outbound passenger trips on the Xiamen-Kinmen "mini three links" route exceeded 1.74 million.
Latest data from the Gaoqi Border Inspection Station of the Xiamen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection shows that inbound and outbound passenger traffic on the Xiamen-Kinmen "mini three links" route exceeded 1.74 million this year, including nearly 1.4 million Taiwan compatriots, accounting for about 80 percent. Both figures surpassed last year's full-year totals, setting a new single-year record since the route resumed service in 2023. With the successive rollout of policies related to the cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone, travel demand among Taiwan compatriots has expanded from traditional family visits to diverse purposes such as business negotiations, youth study tours, sports exchanges and cultural tourism experiences. In August this year, monthly passenger volume on the route exceeded 200,000 for the first time, setting a single-month record since the route opened. The passenger structure has shown positive changes, with more than 70,000 first-time Taiwan compatriot visitors entering this year, up 70 percent year on year. Among Taiwan compatriots who entered in the past three months, nearly half stayed more than four days, making immersive sightseeing experiences a new trend.
