Cerebras (CBRS.US) Lands Major Oracle Deal: Deployment Set for 2027, Stock Briefly Jumps 10%

Zhitong Finance APP has learned that Oracle (ORCL.US) will offer cloud services based on Cerebras (CBRS.US) computers in its data centers, adding another major customer for this emerging company that is challenging Nvidia's dominance in AI hardware. Cerebras sells computers that use a novel chip approachbuilding giant chips from an entire silicon wafer, whereas a whole wafer is typically used to manufacture multiple processors. The chipmaker says this approach enables its products to deliver meaningful results faster than competitors when processing AI queries (i.e., inference). The two companies said in a statement on Tuesday that Oracle Cloud Infrastructure will begin deploying the relevant equipment in the first half of 2027.
