Bank interim dividends are moving from proposal disclosure into a implementation phase. Bank of Shanghai recently issued an implementation announcement for its 2026 interim equity distribution, paying out a total cash dividend of more than 4 billion yuan. Meanwhile, banks including Sunong Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and Agricultural Bank of China all implemented interim dividends in October. The six major state-owned banks even raised their 2026 interim dividend payout ratio from 30% to 31%. Industry insiders said improvements in banks' fundamentals have provided room for dividends. In a low-interest-rate environment, the allocation value of high-dividend bank stocks is prominent, and banks are also more motivated to stabilize investor expectations and enhance their appeal to long-term capital through interim dividends.
