On October 26, the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics announced that in the first three quarters, the province's gross domestic product (GDP) was 1,802.428 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5% at constant prices. Among them, the value added of the primary industry was 93.372 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1%; the value added of the secondary industry was 677.194 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.9%; and the value added of the tertiary industry was 1,031.863 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%. Among them, industry was the main drag on its economic growth. In the first three quarters, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province decreased by 6.0% year on year. From the perspective of the three major categories, mining decreased by 7.9%, manufacturing decreased by 2.6%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water decreased by 4.1%.
