Guangdong's 2026 flood season ends today.

According to the relevant provisions of the Regulations of Guangdong Province on Flood, Drought, and Typhoon Prevention and Control and based on consultation outcomes, the Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has decided to end the 2026 flood season on October 26. After transitioning to the non-flood season, all localities and departments shall continue to closely monitor weather conditions and strictly implement all measures for drought and frost prevention. They shall seize the favorable opportunities of winter and spring to accelerate the rectification of hidden dangers, the repair of flood-damaged projects, and the construction of disaster prevention and mitigation infrastructure. They shall maintain unimpeded communication and a state of readiness. In the event of special weather such as typhoons, rainfall, or low-temperature freezing, all localities and departments shall, in accordance with their division of responsibilities and the provisions of emergency response plans, promptly activate emergency responses, implement preventive and responsive measures, and make every effort to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
