Driverless mining truck sales soar
No driver neededoperations continue as usual even in heavy fog, rain, snow, or extreme cold of minus 40C. Today, the autonomous mining truck, this "steel behemoth" in the mines, is entering a demand boom, with domestic shipments growing nearly a hundredfold in six years. The products have gone global, landing in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and Chinese intelligent mining solutions are rewriting the global mining landscape. A reporter visited the autonomous mining truck production workshop, where the giant mining trucks, 4.5 meters tall and 40 tons heavy, are quite spectacular, and the factory rolls out one unit every three to four days on average. Unlike traditional mining trucks, autonomous mining trucks are equipped with drive-by-wire chassis and covered with LiDAR, cameras, and positioning sensors, relying on an "autonomous driving brain" to complete the entire workflow of path planning, obstacle recognition, and automatic loading and unloading.
