UK September retail sales fall more than expected; October consumer confidence drops sharply
Zhitong Finance APP has learned that UK retail sales fell in September as consumers reduced food purchases, while above-average temperatures hit demand for autumn clothing. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported on Friday that total sales of goods online and in stores fell 0.4%, while economists had expected a decline of 0.1%. This followed an upwardly revised increase of 0.7% in August.
