On October 23, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), wrote that in January-September 2026 China's automobile exports reached 8.63 million units, a year-on-year growth rate of 52% compared with the same period in 2025; in September, China's automobile exports reached 1.18 million units, up 55% year-on-year and up 13% month-on-month, with the overall trend remaining strong. The main drivers this year remain high oil prices, improved competitiveness of Chinese products, and continued growth in Global South markets. In September, exports to Mexico and the Philippines fell back relatively sharply month-on-month. In January-September 2026, Anhui's automobile export growth rate was 115%, ranking second only to Zhejiang. Enterprises in Shanghai have a high export grade and relatively high average export prices.
