Trump says Musk has restored Starlink service to Ukraine.
On the afternoon of October 22 local time, U.S. President Trump was asked by the media at the White House whether he had called SpaceX CEO Musk to demand that he lift the speed restrictions on the military version of the "Starlink" satellite communications service for Ukraine. Trump said he would "not comment," but "what matters is that Musk has already restored the relevant service." However, Ukrainian President Zelensky told the media earlier that day that the speed restrictions had not yet been completely lifted. According to sources in the Ukrainian military, the operating speed of the "Starlink" service appears to be recovering and is now higher than before. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal that day, Trump had called Musk and asked him to lift the relevant restrictions on the militarized version of the "Starlink" satellite communications system in Ukraine. U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said on October 21 that the decision to impose speed restrictions on Ukraine's use of the "Starlink" satellite communications system was "made by Musk, not the White House." The report, citing U.S. officials, said Trump told Musk that he was dissatisfied with the restricted speed of the "Starlink" system's use.
