Meta Platforms Inc. said it has signed leases and contracts with total future commitments of about $825 billion, with a large portion of the funds earmarked for AI computing power and related infrastructure. A regulatory filing submitted by the company on Thursday showed that operating and finance leases not yet recorded on the balance sheet are valued at $355.7 billion, covering data center and energy infrastructure lease projects commencing at various points from the remainder of this year through 2036. As of September 30, Meta had an additional $454.5 billion in non-cancelable short-term and long-term contracts, most of which relate to third-party cloud computing capacity, data center energy agreements, and consumer hardware products in the Reality Labs division. Meta also said it has up to $14.7 billion in cloud computing procurement obligations over the next five years; however, that amount could be reduced if cloud service providers resell the computing capacity to other customers.
