On October 19, CSRC Chairman Wu Qing mentioned in his speech at the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Meeting that the next step will be to steadily introduce market value-based allotment for new stocks on the Beijing Stock Exchange. Affected by this, on October 20, the BSE 50 Index rose more than 5% at one point and ultimately closed up 3.88%. People interviewed told reporters that market value-based allotment is conducive to strengthening the appeal of holding positions, enhancing the linkage between the primary and secondary markets, eliminating the phenomenon of pure new share subscription arbitrage, lowering the threshold for winning new share allotments, and attracting some small and medium-sized investors to participate.
