At the opening ceremony, the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission and the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government jointly signed the "Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation on Further Promoting High-Quality Synergistic Development of Shipping between Shanghai and Hong Kong." The memorandum preliminarily envisages all-round in-depth cooperation in five key areas: smart port construction, application of green shipping energy, collaboration in high-end shipping services, joint training of professionals, and sharing of industry technological exchanges. It also provides for the simultaneous establishment of a regular liaison and consultation mechanism and the project-based advancement of the implementation of various cooperation tasks, so as to achieve new breakthroughs in shipping cooperation between the two places.
