Samsung will launch its first open-type earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On, in South Korea on October 27.
Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it will launch its first open-type earbuds, named Galaxy Buds On, next week. The tech giant said the earbuds will go on sale in South Korea on Oct. 27, initially available only in black, priced at 299,000 won. Galaxy Buds On features an open design that rests lightly on the contour of the ear. Users can listen to music and watch video content while still perceiving ambient sounds around them. The product targets both running enthusiasts and ordinary users who wear earbuds daily and want to hear environmental sounds. Samsung said the product underwent extensive simulation testing using AI optimization technology based on four-dimensional computation and applied ergonomic design principles. Nam Hyun-jeon, head of Samsung's wearable devices, said: "If inspiration strikes suddenly, users can call Gemini Live and refine their ideas through conversation; they can also use Quick Voice Memo to quickly record inspirations and to-do lists, making these earbuds highly practical in daily life." Samsung said that when paired with a smartphone or tablet, the earbuds support hands-free AI voice commands. The product also features head gesture recognition, which can recognize the user's head movements, and the earbuds themselves support touch controls.
