In Nanchang, Jiangxi, at an optical component company, a seemingly inconspicuous piece of small glass is entering the high-speed optical communications market as demand for AI computing power grows. From 2.5G PON-type filters used in fiber-to-the-home to 1.6T optical module products, after 11 years of development, its value has risen from 0.1 yuan to more than 60 times the original. With the rapid construction of AI large models and computing centers, 5-nanometer and 10-nanometer high-precision coating products are ushering in a broad market. Today, the company's ratio of traditional imaging to optical communications business has been optimized from 8:2 to 5:5. In the first half of this year, revenue from the communications optics business grew 118.25%, completing nearly half a year ahead of schedule the full-year profit of last year, and their orders for high-speed optical module components have been scheduled through the end of 2027.
