South Korea's financial regulator said on Monday that an IPO by Solidigm, the U.S. subsidiary of SK Hynix, could violate restrictions on "dual listing." Lee Chan-jin, governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, said South Korean regulators are examining whether Solidigm would need to undergo review under domestic regulations if it conducts an IPO in the United States. When asked how regulators would protect the interests of minority shareholders of parent company SK Hynix if Solidigm lists, Lee Chan-jin replied: "We have been closely monitoring this matter... Both the Financial Services Commission and we believe this constitutes a violation of the regulations on 'dual listing.'"
